Equipment & Clothing

We believe it is essential that everyone be properly outfitted to ensure a smooth and successful outdoor trip with Escape Travel. We recommend that you take the time to prepare yourself for any type of warm, cold or wet weather here in Northern California. Visit our Bicycle Vacations for a complete packing list. On all tours, please layer your clothing since it is easier to control your body temperature even when wet. A rain jacket is recommended for rain and cold conditions. Long pants over shorts provides quick changing options while out on the trail. Sunglasses, sun block and a sun visor should be included as well. We'll be providing a backpack or handle bar bag to carry your personal items on all hiking & cycling tours. Quality gear will make your trip with us more enjoyable.

• We offer gel seats and can put your clip less pedals on for you.

Weather

We have scheduled our biking departures to offer a good amount of sunshine combined with many local activities, events and attractions throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall. Daytime temperatures will generally range from 60-75°F March - May with June - September temperatures creeping closer to 85+°F. We expect conditions to be optimal for cycling during the above months; however, participants should be prepared for slightly cooler weather and shorter days in Oct & Nov. The coastal regions can experience warm weather and fog at any time. Adequate raingear and warmer layers may be needed for any departure November-April.
