1. Wine Country Wine Tasting and Pacific Ocean
This tour includes the best of many other trips we offer. We begin with a relaxing drive to Healdsburg to taste wine from two of the most popular wineries in the Dry Creek Valley; Kendall Jackson and Windsor. This warm region has been long known for its quality Zinfandel and Petit Syrah. Award-winning wines and tasting from Windsor will be followed by a quick walk over to Kendal Jackson featuring their reserve style wines from, Lakewood, LaCrema, and others. Both tasting rooms are located on the historically beautiful Healdsburg Square. Once back in the vineyards, we'll be able to view the working sections of the winery or just relax in the spacious redwood tasting room. World famous fermented Champagne, wines and brandy at Korbel Champagne Cellars lies just ahead. This is one of the most impressive stops we make in the wine country.

Next, we'll travel down the scenic banks of the Russian River through Guerneville and up to Armstrong Woods State Park where we will drive/ walk through several impressive redwood groves. Finally, we begin making our way out to the impressive Sonoma Coast while following HWY 1 south along the jagged coastline into the fishing village of Bodega Bay. On our way back, we'll follow the rolling foothills of the dairy and cattle farms of the Sonoma Coast, Tomales Lagoon, and Point Reyes. After a brief stopover at Stinson Beach for some R&R or walking on the beach we will make our way back to SF.

2. Best of Marin County
Leaving San Francisco we will cross the Golden Gate and ascend up the nearby Marin Headlands with an elevated vista of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, Pacific Ocean, Point Bonita (lighthouse), and the bay from Hawk Hill (920 feet). Then we'll descend down to Point Bonita; which is considered by many to be the Bay Area's most spectacular paths for its dramatic scenery and steep windswept ridge for a quick walk out to the lighthouse. Then we'll make our way down to Rodeo Beach and then out through the Headlands to the beautiful and wealthy seaside town of Sausalito. From here, you can look back and see the San Francisco skyline from bridge to bridge, Belvedere, Angel Island, and Alcatraz. While traveling along the waterfront, we'll stop for about 1 hour for relaxing, shopping, and just enjoying the scenic friendliness this place has to offer. Our next stop will be a quick walk through the 2 mile loop and the 900-acre preserve called the Richardson Bay Sanctuary. Lunch will be served in nearby Tiburon Park overlooking the shores of Angel Island. Then we head to Belvedere, one of the most impressive neighborhoods in all the Bay Area. Belvedere looks like an island but it's really a peninsula with a 15-minute drive around the top that will truly make you wish you lived here since many of the 5,000 sq ft+ homes have 250-degree ocean views. Optional ferry back to San Francisco.

3. Muir Woods-Mt. Tam-Stinson Beach
Muir Woods National Monument is only 12 miles from San Francisco and offers the finest scenery and Redwood Groves anywhere. This gem was created when William Kent donated the 295 acres of Redwoods to the Federal government in 1905 to protect it from being clear-cut. At the time it was one of the Bay Area's last uncut stands of old-growth redwood. The old-growth forest was later named in honor of John Muir due to his efforts as a conversationalist and environmentalist who has since inspired generations of wilderness activists. "This is the best tree-lover's monument that could possibly be found in all the forests in the world. You have done me a great honor, and I am proud of it." -Muir to William Kent.

This quote by John Muir speaks wonders for what this park has to offer. We will get out and explore the Redwood Creek area for about an hour or so to take in the shear beauty that the Redwood Canyon Loop walk has to offer. This park has been expanded to 560 acres since its inception and now includes some of the finest flora, fauna, and natural beauty northern California has to offer. From Muir Woods, we'll head back up to take a quick walk up to the top of Mt Tam's East Peak (elev. 2,571 ft) for lunch with an incredible view of the entire Bay Area from the lookout station. We'll rendezvous to Mt Tam State Park from there. This drive takes you through open headlands where we'll be able to watch hang gliders launch from the grassy hillside out over redwood groves before landing on Stinson Beach. Forests of soaring redwoods, captivating Pacific coastline and pastoral landscapes will follow as we meander down to sea level. Bolinas Lagoon Preserve will appear with its world-class bird watching where we might see the great White Egret. Perhaps you're ready for a quiet walk on the soft sands of Stinson Beach? We'll have the opportunity to pick up a beverage and snack in this laid-back coastal town before heading back to San Francisco. This is a great opportunity to "sit back and take in the beauty of Marin County."

4. Monterey-17 Mile Drive-Carmel-Point Lobos Reserve - Big Sur
Like fine wine, this is a classic tour that has been a favorite to over 2 million visitors every year to this sunny and warm region on the Monterey Peninsula. Its rocky shoreline and Cypress forests create a serene landscape surrounded by palatial homes. This region and Monterey serve as the gateway to the impressive Big Sur. We'll take time to explore Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. We'll then continue along the jagged coastline through Pacific Grove.

Next, is the famous 17-mile drive through the heart of the Monterey Peninsula? Stopping to see Point Pinos, Asilomar State Beach, Spanish Bay, Cypress Point, Pebble Beach and Carmel Bay before arriving in the artist colony of Carmel By the Sea, will help you understand the pure drama this land reveals. We'll have about ?hr to explore the 300+ shops and the main drag by foot before resuming our drive southbound along the coast to Point Lobos Reserve, considered the crown of California's state park system with over 300,000 visitors each year. We will make the drive throughout the unspoiled reserve with some time left over for 15 minutes or so of exploring by foot. From Point Lobos, scenic HWY 1, hugs the steep cliffs of the Santa Lucia Mountains southward towards Big Sur, home to McWay Falls, one of the most visited and photographed waterfalls in the state. This 10 minute easy walk is highly recommended for great views of the falls and crashing waves from the nearby cliffs. The water flows off the jagged hillside down 50 feet to the white sands below.

5. Napa Valley Wine Tasting - Silverado Trail
The Napa Valley region is hands down the "Crown Jewel" of Northern California's wine country. This would still be true if this region did not produce some of the world's best wines due to its stunning natural beauty. This region is blessed by the cool fog that rolls in from San Pablo Bay on its southern side and warmer weather on the northern side near Mt St Helena. Due to the 10-12 degree difference in weather temperatures, this region produces many diverse varietals to please any connoisseur.

This valley is dotted with amazing turn of the century chateau-like wineries that are built from stones from this rocky terrain. All this is surrounded by the grace of world-renowned vineyards. We will stop for a bit of bubbly in the Carneros Region at the most impressive European chateau Domain Carneros. We get to experience all this from the leisurely pace from our vehicle on the eastern side of the valley along the Silverado trail with our first stop at Signorello and then on to Clos Du Val Winery with its fine redwood tasting room. A quick drive through the tree lined back roads leads us to the vast Trefethen Vineyards. The entrance driveway of this large estate is so impressively long; it was used as a private airstrip for Mr. Trefethen back in the day. The Dry Riesling here is incredible as are many of the older aged (1990-1995) reds they serve here for tasting. After having lunch, take an optional stop at the Laird Family Estate where you can experience fine Chardonnay in one of the newest contemporary style destinations in the valley. Finally, we'll make our way back to Monticello Cellars for our last stop before returning to San Francisco for a group photo high above the GG Bridge in the Marin Headlands.

6. Muir Woods - Mt. Tam State Park - Point Reyes
Muir Woods National Monument offers some of the finest scenery and Redwood Groves anywhere. This gem in San Francisco's backyard was created when William Kent donated 295 acres of Redwoods to the Federal government in 1905 to protect it from being clear-cut. At the time it was one of the Bay Area's last uncut stands of old-growth redwoods. This quote speaks wonders for what this park has to offer. We'll get out and explore the Redwood Creek area for about an hour or so to take in the shear beauty the Redwood Canyon Loop walk has to offer.

This park has been expanded to 560 acres since its inception, and includes some of the finest flora, fauna, and natural beauty Northern California has to offer. From Muir Woods, heading back up to the top of Mt Tam's East Peak for lunch with an incredible view, is a quick drive. We'll rendezvous to Mt Tam State Park windward ridge for views that are to-die-for being that a majority of this drive is about 1,600-2,000 feet above Point Reyes, Bolinas Lagoon, and Stinson Beach below. If we're lucky, watching the hang gliders launch from the grassy hillside out over redwood groves before landing on Stinson Beach below will be possible. Forests of soaring redwoods, captivating Pacific coast, and pastoral landscapes will follow as we meander down to sea level and north to Point Reyes National Seashore. Point Reyes is a study in motion- slow continental transformations and sudden, violent jolts that shake the earth and the wind and waves have carved out this spectacle. Point Reyes Beach South is where we'll be relaxing for lunch at the beach.

The drive up the windy road to Point Reyes Lighthouse has a "Titanic Like" view of the Pacific. This is the best location for viewing the Grey whales on their migrations during the months of January-May. Sea Lions and thousands of common Murres make this area their home. If we have time, we'll visit Johnson's Oyster farm where we'll have the opportunity to purchase fresh oysters.

7. Sonoma County Wine Tasting
This piedmont country, that is located between the ocean and Sierra Nevada mountain range to the west, divides its terrain between vineyards, ranches, and dense forests. Sonoma is blessed with exactly the right combination of sun, soil, seasonal moisture and geography for producing wine grapes of exceptional quality. Viansa Winery and Italian Marketplace will be our first stop. With its hilltop perch overlooking restored wetlands and the valley beyond; a strong Italian aurora is felt. Relax while enjoying free samples of gourmet sauces, award winning wines, and sparkling wines. A short drive up the HWY lands us at Gloria Ferrerer Champagne Cave where we'll sample award-winning sparkling wines and Pinot Noir. Either tour this facility or just sit back and take in the view from their vista terrace.

The Spanish-style town of Sonoma boasts the plaza where a picnic lunch in the shady park is next. You'll have the opportunity to shop or just stroll through California's largest plaza offering a playground, duck pond, open-air-theatre, and rose garden. Don't miss the world-renowned Sonoma Mission on the Plaza. Our walk through the plaza puts us at the Sebastian tasting room. Our final stop is at the modest Ravenswood. This small winery sits atop a small knoll with a stunning view of a nearby valley. This is an ideal place to shop for gifts and wine accessories while enjoying fine varietals. A quick ride will have us back in San Francisco!
